GlobalManufacturingSuite COE
Welcome everyone, and for those who do not know me, let me introduce myself,
My name is Krzysztof and I am WW Industry Process Consulting Director in DELMIA brand. I have multiple years of MOM deployment, consulting and sales experience (if you'd like to know more - feel free to connect with me via LinkedIn )
I have come to idea of making here series of posts tackling the topic of managing and organizing your multisite CORE MODEL environments. The so called "Center of Excellence" topic is complex and has many angles, and is starting in fact from very first scope definition workshops that we have even during a sales cycle. In these series of posts I will try to tackle some of the topics to highlight their importance or role.
I encourage every of you, our dear customers active on this community, to indicate which aspect might be interesting so I will include that in the series. I know from my experience everyone is looking at some different angle of this subject, hence feel free to comment and I will try to include the highlight of the topics that interest you the most in those posts.
Of course these short posts will never be able to replace a solid discussion with your account team, so treat this as a set of teasers on what you might ask your responsible Sales Expert from DELMIA to bring to your table together with lead Solution Consultant and discuss in full extent.
So to start smooth what are the key factors of a Successful Global MOM Solution?
It can be easily summarized to the three items above:
- correct solution that natively support the concept
- proven methodology of defining, configuring and deploying desired functional scope
- organization that will assure the solution adoption and growth
The last one is a key that I always emphasize on, no MOM solution should stay "as is" when deployed. Your ways of working as manufacturers evolve and so must the IT solutions that support your business processes, they cannot limit you from what you want to achieve, but have to support you in your never ending journey.
Hence what is in overall a mission of Center Of Excellence (COE)?
It is to help you in your excellence and improvement journey:
- standardize your business processes and how they are addressed by your IT tools
- capitalize and share best practices coming from various parts of your organization
- provide improvement and evolution of solution to the whole ecosystem of your plants
Seems simple and trivial, but as I wrote at the beginning of this paragraph, there are many aspects on "how to do it". And I will focus on those in subsequent posts of this series.
Please let me know in comments what would be your points of interest and I will try to fit them in the next posts in appropriate logical sequence.
