Often times in manufacturing world we come across the situation wherein we have to store real time machine data, for various reasons like to perform data analytics, for regulatory compliance or to do any ad hoc analysis in order to generate reports & dashboards.
And in such scenario, one of the challenges we face is “storage and fast retrieval of large volume of data”. There are several ways to handle this situation, for example, leverage a “Historian”, have an on-premise/ cloud “Data Warehouse” or “Data lake” or develop some custom/ proprietary solution.
With cloud infrastructure & technology today, we have options like Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery data warehouse (to name a few) which can be employed to address the above-mentioned challenges.
With these things in mind, I have tried to come up with a small PoC on how can we send/ store near real time machine data on Google Cloud BigQuery data warehouse, through DELMIA Apriso.
In the attached video, you will see that OPC tag values are being sent to a table in BigQuery via DELMIA Apriso.
