Work order creation (WOC) is a manufacturing business process for every complex assembly manufacturer. It is mandatory to eventually assemble a product, or end item. Complex assembly manufacturing is the type of manufacturing where takt times are long (sometimes days), and many people often work simultaneously on different jobs by making, or assembling, the same complex end item. Complex assembly manufacturers assemble products such as planes, train cars, boats, and large industrial equipment.
The following process & data flow diagram reviews the steps in the WOC scenario, and the data elements involved, which are shared with other applications in the end-to-end scenario.
