Demo Thought Worth Sharing
During one of our Japanese customer POC, we used Complex Assembly Prepackage in part of the demo scenario. In response to 1 of the requirements from this customer to make the data input as easy as possible, we customized the Execution Cockpit a little bit to add QR code scanning capability to the original screen.
This allows the production operator to scan QR code in following 3 use cases:
1. On the initial task list screen, the operator can scan QR code to select and open a task instead of choosing by mouse or touch.
2. In task activity screen, the operator can scan QR code to directly answer check list, view 2D/3D work instruction.
3. In task activity screen, the operator can input component serial / lot number by scanning QR code instead of manual input.
The modification to the screens is simply implemented by changing the HTML template of the screens through extension points thanks to CA well defined template framework. The QR code scan can be done by using normal camera on PC or built in camera on mobile devices like iPad.
By using the same technique, bar code or multiple codes can also be included in the support. If iPad is used, Apriso iOS App now support QR code scanning natively, it is also possible to easily integrate the default code scan function of Apriso App with this demo scenario.
Here is a short video clip from the demo for this customer POC of the QR code scan:
