APRISO - JIS(Just-In-Sequence) #Overview

Hello

I'd like to talk about Just-In-Sequence, which is often talked about in Transporation & Mobility industry.

First of all, I'm sure you've heard a lot about JIS(Just-In-Sequence) and JIT(Just-In-Time). The concept of JIT is to define the buffer that occurs in production as waste and to remove it as much as possible when a problem occurs. And JIS can be viewed as a strategy to achieve JIT.

Through JIS, you can reduce the buffer of materials required and immediately respond to changes in production according to customer orders and perform sequencing to ensure that materials are prepared in Just-In-Time and work.

Above all, a high level of Just-In-Time Process is required for the introduction of JIS. The company first needs to synchronize production and logistics and reduce the inventory buffer to some extent through collaboration with suppliers and customers. By solving various problems derived from this process, the benefits of sequencing introduced later can be maximized. JIS also requires several new processes along with JIT. The production sequence must be shared with the supplier or contractor, and a system must be in place to deliver the confirmed plan so that the material can be delivered on time. In addition, Poka-Yoke or quality activity to confirm that sequencing and assembly order are properly established should be supported.

Now, let's take a look at the sequencing part in APRISO.
APRISO JIS capabilities can synchronize production activities, from receiving, picking, fabrication, production, and assembly to delivery to suppliers, customers and subcontractors.

These synchronizations of APRISO Just-In-Sequence operations is achieved via a shared production sequence. Once a sequence has been established for the final production (or shipping) stage, all upstream operations are sequenced to deliver materials and semi-finished products in that order and on time.

APRISO Just-In-Sequence feature helps you manage the final sequence of a production order and any upstream sequences that are fed to the production area. Supervisors can control sequences with manual overrides, or instruct field workers to perform appropriate actions based on the real-time status of sequential orders. This coordination is accomplished while comprehensive part-and-process traceability is maintained and specific error-proofing processes are enabled and enforced.

In other words, APRISO Just-In-Sequence provides us real-time visibility and control of complex sequencing activities across sourcing, manufacturing, sub-assembly, production, and delivery. It can reduce inventory/WIP, improve cycle times, increase quality and achieve higher levels of customer satisfaction.
