Web Request Operator example

Hi all,

I have a use case where I want to use the web request operator, but I'm not completely sure of it's limitations. Is it possible for any of you in DS to upload an example file of it in the wiki and explaining its intended use etc.?

From what I understand from the documentation, the operator only fetches or updates data through JSON on-demand and is not able to get triggered by any events from a webhook or similar?

In a test scenario I set up, I have an array of JSON objects that can be changed or updated externally (not only through the VS model). In this scenario the operator will not know if the data has been updated and the user will always have to force an update of the entire VS model to be sure that the latest data is used to generate the model. For the time being this has to be done manually through the "Update All" tool in the Analyzer, but this is not a good solution with regards to efficiency and possible introduction of errors if a user forgets to update.

Do you have a proposal of a best practice for making the model update only when the data in the URL are changed, i.e make a check comparing the current data in the VS model to the URL data or something?
