Architecture – Pushing the Envelopes (Part I)

This is the latest architecture project in which we were able to use 3dexperience from start to finish and develop 2 of the most complex and iconic spaces in the building.

The image show the interior Atrium liner walls system composed of 8m diamond shaped panels made out of aluminum frame covered with stretched fabrics. On the left is our 3dexperience model and on the right is the finish product.

We used the 3dexperience platform to generate our initial design iterations (using a fast and flexible approach) and then optimize the geometry and the assembly. To maintain control over the design intent, we may bring the 3d digital models to a higher level of detail and resolve some of the more difficult issues such as system detailing, standardization of connections, use of stock material and increased repetition throughout the assembly. Delivering such a special project on time and on budget is a result of an intense collaborative process between us (the architect), our client, consultants, contractors and fabricators.
