I am wondering how others approach or other best practices of representing cable data. Currently, we have our standard block diagrams that decompose into the necessary hardware components, using IBDs with part properts that have connector lines and contain a stereotype with the cable data-- i.e part number, connector name, comm protocol etc' created a table that shows the cable data / tag values. However, when given mass amounts of meta data for a cable -- there is still the issue of Pinout configurations and knowing where to easily store that detail. Just trying to have a better automatic system in place so that whenever an engineer provides updated cable information, there's a flow in updating that metadata into the model.
