Resolution for PP server performance issue with SentinelOne

We recently upgraded our Bioreg system to the v2019 software stack, from v2017. After a few days, I noticed a worrying trend where the system seemed to run significantly slower. One protocol in particular that usually took 30 seconds to run was taking 90 seconds, and many short protocols that ran in a second were taking more than 5 seconds. All in all it made the system seem very, very sluggish. At some point I realized that the problem might be the corporate antivirus software. I asked our IT department to whitelist the scisvr.exe executable in SentinelOne. Once they did that, performance snapped back to normal. The protocol that was taking 90 seconds went back down to 24 seconds, and the quick 1 to 2 second protocols were back to running quickly again. So if you are running SentinelOne (or perhaps your site is considering a switch to this software) keep in mind that you may need to whitelist the scisvr.exe process. I might ask them to whitelist a few others for good measure - maybe apache and bhub.
