Kinnate Biopharma is a precision oncology company focused on delivering targeted therapies that address areas of significant unmet medical need. A significant necessity is the maintenance of a nimble, fit for purpose ecosystem of compound and assay data information systems married with appropriate cheminformatics tools. This ecosystem provides a basis to allow for scientific recordkeeping, while effectively facilitating the design and evolution of molecules during optimization. It is vital that the solution be simple to create, learn and use, be resilient to personnel turnover and yet provide robust support to the primary mission of discovering novel medicines. We use BIOVIA’s Pipeline Pilot software platform which provides a robust stitch between platforms like ACD/Labs and Spotfire to fulfill the needs of fast hit expansion and SAR generation. Agile, robust, simple to create and use pipeline pilot protocols have been constructed to calculate compound properties, populate tables in databases and create reporting spreadsheets for analysis with this unique workflow authoring system. An example protocol is the physiochemical properties calculation of compounds using a combination of ACD/Labs and Pipeline Pilot which are updated and inserted into an Oracle database table. Modeling activities like R-group Analysis, Spotfire project compound summary comparison views and the deployment, application and refinement of QSAR models is seamlessly achieved using Pipeline Pilot .
