Opening Lyon: TUBA celebrating their new innovation and experimentation lab

TUBA, a place to visit for creative and curious mind questioning their urban life and city.

This urban innovation and experimentation lab inaugurated Monday, July 16, its new 800 sq m space in the district of Part-Dieu in Lyon.

Its mission: encourage and support innovation, experiment and develop the urban service of tomorrow so we all enjoy our Life in the City.

It's a place that brings together public and private companies, start-ups, students and citizens around projects combining design and human and social sciences contributing to the development of the smart city and urban services.

The Urban Collaborative Lab provides to companies and startups the conditions to innovate and develop new products and services based on public or private urban data, and ensure their success.

The Experimentation Lab is opens to anyone to meet, share and build skills on mediation and experimentation (prototype). In 2017, they have launched the animation cycles thanks to the arrival of civic services (State funding) in support of the cultural & digital mediation activity and a new format for hosting the public. Visitors are invited to join the LAB community (500 people to date) to meet and work in an open space. This new offer allows everyone to benefit from a workspace, an internet access and the possibility of participating in events raising awareness of urban and digital issues. They also make available interactive devices for visitors to test digital services.

They offers everyone the chance to take part in testing and experimenting with new services - demonstrating here its Open Innovation approach.

TUBA's dynamics have transcended regional boundaries by sharing good public-private collaboration practices nationally and internationally. Strong relationships are built with Osaka, Montreal, Tel Aviv, Boston, London ... And the list of these exchanges promises to grow so stay tuned !
