A special week within the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab

                         💥What a crazy week for the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab!💥

💥But for sure, the best way for the team to end this amazing year 2023! 💥

Let’s go through this intense program :

Dec 11th – the new 3DEXPERIENCE Lab pitch session set up

@CB, our best pitch session moderator, decided with @FM(our Lab’ Spielberg) to refresh the pitch session set up by adding their own personal touch: a space more collaborative with a jury more closer to the startup pitchers and to the Dassault Systèmes voters connected to the #committe 24 live.

We all loved it! What about you?

Dec 12th – The 1st LEO private screening - Elysées Biarritz

Elysées Biarritz is a private screening room located near the Champs-Elysées where a lot of incredible films were screened and where famous actors defended their film projects.

On Dec 12th, it was Frédéric Vacher - Head of innovation at Dassault Systèmes, Jim Capobianco - Pixar Studios veteran and LEO film director and Ilan Urroz – Foliascope CEO and LEO film producer who were on stage to present the film – LEO THE INVENTOR, a Leonardo Da Vinci biopic during his life experience in Amboise with King François 1er.

This collaboration was born thanks to OPEN CODEX challenge organized by the 3DXEPERIENCE Lab team during when Engineers, Makers, Scientists and Artists decided to create the 3D Models of Leonardo Da Vinci machines based on his manuscripts (CODEX). This challenge was really a big success and allowed Foliascope and Jim to use the 3D models to develop some elements of the movie decor.

During the event, the paddle boat used in the film was exhibited and also the 3D models of the 5 OPEN CODEX Challenger Winners : @AD@AA, Atharva DINGORE, Daniel DEOREO and Kiran NIKWADE.

We welcomed 187 participants with the privilege to welcome our CEO Bernard Charles, Pascal Daloz, Charles Edelstenne and some members of Dassault’s family.

The projection was a great success and it was followed by a cocktail reception where animations were exhibited :

  • The Clos Lucé web animation,
  • LEO photo booth,
  • The 3D printed models of the OPEN CODEX Challenge winners,
  • The paddle boat mock up used in the film,
  • A photography exhibition - photographer M. Hosatte that immortalizes the LEO backstage,
  • And our LEO dashboard within the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

The film will be released in France in Jan 31st, 2024 and an exhibition dedicated to this movie will start in February at the Clos Lucé Castle – stay tuned!

Dec 13th – The 2nd pitch session of the year #committee 24

It was a great moment surrounded by our loyal and new jury members :

  • Bernard Charles
  • Patrick Johnson
  • Juba Hadj Ali
  • David Chassan
  • Corinne Bulota

Special guest

  • Felix Hanke

839 DS colleagues were connected to the pitch session and 4 startups have been selected to integrate our acceleration program.

Now let’s move on their program integration in 2024, more to come on our social media channels – stay tuned!

Dec 13th – the 2nd LEO private screening in the CNAM – Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers

The 2nd private screening of the film took place in the CNAM – Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers in Paris.

The film was screened in the famous amphitheater Paul Painlevé and it was followed by a reception in the heart of the Museum : the church where Frédéric Vacher, Jim Capobianco and Ilan Urroz interacted with the audience to answer to some questions:

  • What is the stop motion technique?
  • Which kind of study did Jim Capobianco?
  • Which scene was the most difficult to shoot?
  • Why is Dassault Systèmes involved in this adventure?

110 mentors and partners were invited to this event with the aim to really thank them for their commitment with our startups and their supports on making our Lab more and more accurate to support disruptive projects that make impact on our world.

Dec 15th – all animations are back to the Lab in Velizy....

Friday was the last day of the week and we welcomed all of our animations exhibited during this crazy week back to the Lab.

But one furniture didn’t survive to this intense week……

Any maker to fix it?

Until the end of the year.....

A big thank to all the 3DEXPERIENCE team, to our 2nd pitch session jury members, to @VDand @VO, to @CP, @CD, to @HAand @JB, to Jim Capobianco and Ilan Urroz, to Gilles Garel and Loÿs Marechal from the CNAM, to Doris and Vladimir from KMBO and to all the team from Elysées Biarritz and Barbe à Papa
