New App:

CATIA Creative Design Experience

A new app is now available in the Style Designer Park (within Creative Designer role). The new app is called as "CATIA Creative Design Experience"

Perfect for students ideating or conceptualizing on a project, when imagination and creativity should not be limited by tools at hand. 
CATIA Creative Design Experience is a New and Innovative application providing an efficient and modern User Experience made for Creative Designers’ mindset and thinking, combining 3D Sketching and 3D Sculpting for a smoother creative workflow, to be more creative, and to bring more ideas into a 3D reality.

New Enhancements in XApps

Quick App Switching on Homescreen

Now Quickly Switch between all the xApps available to you, right on the homescreen.
You can use just one dashboard with one widget for all the xApps, and easily switch between them.

What's new in xDesign

• Are you 3D Printing an Assembly with multiple components?
  Let xDesign automatically arrange the components of the assembly for you, on the build plate!
  You can also manually move, and fine tune the positions, or exclude some components if needed.
• Are you creating a Complex Sketch?
  You can now use Sketch Patterns

What's new in xShape

• Avoid Accidental Modification During Manipulation:
  You can now Freeze a portion of a model while in edit mode, to ensure editing of desired portion only. This ensures that no unwanted change on frozen portion, during designing.
• Use more commands in xShape:
  Use Fillet, Chamfer to smoothen sharp edges within xShape, instead of having to switch to xDesign, which improves productivity.
  Copy with Mates is also now available.
• Quickly Select Elements:
  Select the components by easily drawing around them in the work area using Lasso Selection tool.

What's new in xDefine

• Now HLR view can make xDefine drawings look more akin to Traditional Drafting:
  Set the display such as HLR, Wireframe, and Shaded for drawing views. (HLR- Hidden Line Removed- Outlines without hidden lines. Wireframe-All outlines. Shaded- Faces filled with material or color).

SOLIDWORKS

• SOLIDWORKS Flexible Assemblies supported in 3DEXPERIENCE authoring apps i.e. xDesign, xShape, etc.
  For large SOLIDWORKS assemblies with subassemblies that are specified as flexible, these Sub-assemblies will have the same behavior when imported in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform apps.
• Now data exchange with 3DEXPERIENCE platform is easier.
  Drag and drop of components directly from Feature Manager Design Tree to 3DEXPERIENCE Platform app (i.e. Bookmark Editor) is possible, making it easier when working with assemblies.
• Better Control over Drawing Lifecycle.
  Now you can use maturity transition rules to block transition of a drawing, if its referenced components are not in the targeted maturity state.
