WATER SAVING TRAP JOINT MECHANISM

Hello Everyone,

This is our capstone project titled “Water-saving trap joint mechanism” which is an attempt to reduce the amount of water used per flush in a toilet system.
We proposed a design in which an independent trap valve will be implemented at the sump end replacing the S or P trap to ensure direct passage of water while also maintaining the 2’inch seal required as per the plumbing standards.
Through this design, we propose to save about 63% of the water used in a 13.6L conventional toilet which can prove a major breakthrough in terms of water-saving toilet designs.
