As part of the challenge Fly Your Satellite from ESA , my team TEIDASAT has been working these weeks on the weight definition of our satellite by using the Assembly app of 3DExperience.
We used the computed weight for those parts with a material assigned, so that we can obtain their weight from material properties. Besides we used the declared weight in some commercial parts like the On Board Computer and the transceiver which is in charge of establish communication between our satellite and the Earth by radio signals.
Then we could calculate the center of gravity position and the inertia matrix. These data are really important for our Attitude Determination and Control System department, in order to determine the orientation and orbits that the TEIDESAT-I will have in-orbit.
