#Take Climate Action( Portable Pyrolyzer Unit )

PITCH

Issue of plastic pollution has been making the rounds in the news lately but what can we do about it and what is being done about it.

From grocery bags to plastic straws and everything from soap to makeup, the earth is swamped in plastic and will remain so for generations to come. So how much plastic is there? And there’s been around a 6.3 billion tons of plastic produced worldwide since the 1950s.

An estimated 8 million tonnes of plastic wind up in the oceans every year and is pervasive the World Economic Forum predicts that by 2050 if things continue at the current rate the oceans will hold more plastic waste than fish.

The project is focus on the Design of Portable pyrolyzer unit which convert plastic into oil as an effort in finding environment-friendly means and also sustainable business practice for waste plastic recycling which will also reduce carbon footprint

Also Getting plastic trash from one place to another takes thousands of workers, trucks, trains, cranes operating nonstop to Ship the waste across rain, snow, hail, storm. Garbage wastes and Plastics combined does produce large amount of CO2 emissions in a year due to improper segregation of wastes.

The alternative to this would be going to a landfill Nearby by setting up Portable Pyrolyzer Unit, this process also eliminates a million tons of CO2 emissions a landfill would have produced and result in an actual decrease of CO2 emissions from trash.

Pyrolysis is a process which keeps running without oxygen and in high temperature of around 550°C for which reactor is manufactured to give the expected temperature to the response. The waste plastics are subjected to depolymerisation, pyrolysis, catalytic cracking and fractional distillation to obtain different value-added fuels.

Extraction of oil from the waste plastics termed as plastic pyrolyzed oil which can be marketed at much cheaper rates compared to that present in the market. As we know that both Plastics and Petroleum derived fuels are Hydrocarbons that contain the elements of Carbon & Hydrogen.

Pyrolysis process becomes an option of waste-to-energy technology to deliver bio-fuel to replace fossil fuel. The advantage of the pyrolysis process is its ability to handle unsort and dirty plastic. The pre-treatment of the material is easy. Plastic is needed to be sorted and dried.

Pyrolysis process is also nontoxic or non-environmental harmful emission unlike Incineration which is practiced worldwide. Converting waste plastics into fuel hold great promise for both the environmental and economic scenarios.

World's plastic waste stock encodes so going back to fuel extraction . It's not perfect it's burning fuel will of course result in greenhouse gases but it's a big step above what we have now for those countries who don't have the environmental awareness and don't see much issue with throwing plastic in the ocean it all comes down to the profit motivation aspect of the equation.

If money can be made by producing plastic waste-based fuels this could be a financial incentive for government and private companies alike to heavily recycle and put in place better methods than landfill and besides.

Hopefully we can see it implemented on a large scale
