Pitch of the project

On behalf of the ongoing energy crisis in various parts of the world and climate change, relying to sustainable means is the need of the hour. The project I wish to present is a manual shrub/grass cutter machine. Grass or shrub cutting machine in today's market are mostly petrol and diesel fueled; electric powered machines are also present; which exhibit the demerits of need of charging either a portable power pack (if battery powered) or reduced degree of freedom (if wired type).

The primary feature a shrub cutter must possess is it's high rpm rotation of rotor blades ; and designing a manual cutter brings in a problem of low speed of rotation of rotor blades.

The mechanism I have designed produces a magnifying mechanism using planetary gear setup; by rotation of internal spur gear (ring gear) the sun gear rotates 4x speed and thereby desirable rotor speed can be obtained as it is transmitted to rotor by belt drive mechanism from sun gear. 

This mechanism has zero Global Warming Potential and no carbon dioxide emissions.
