We students of Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune organized a Designing and Modelling competition as a part of our annual inter-college fest “Mélange’21”. There were a total of 40 participants from various colleges, the event was organized on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and supported by the sponsorship of Dassault Systems.

The main purpose of the event was to enable the participants to model and design with xDesign and x3Ddesign on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Students were well acquainted with the knowledge about the applications and tools of 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.

The xDesign event was conducted on 9th December 2021 and x3D design was conducted on 10th December 2021. The event was met with an amazing response from the participants and their enthusiasm.

Which apps and roles were used by the participants?

3D Designer, 3D Innovator, Collaborative Business Innovator, and Collaborative Industry innovator, these roles were used on the 3DExperience platform. 

We used xDesign and X3Ddesign softwares on the platform.

There were a total of 40 participants for the xDesign competition and 30 participants for the x3D design competition. The event was organized by Aarya Pawar, Vaibhav Nipunage, Rohit Gavali and Mayuresh Joshi, it was held under the Technical Committee of EPEC, VIT Pune. 

Problem Statement given to the participants.

The events were conducted in two rounds.

 In the first round, the participants were given an Isometric View of an object from which they were supposed to draw its 1st Angle Orthographic Projections within 45 minutes. 

Some participants were eliminated after the first round. In the second round, the participants were given Orthographic Views of an object from which they were supposed to make its 3D model using xDesign and x3Ddesign software within 90 minutes.
