🚀 Introducing My New Educational Rover Design
Over the past 4 days, I’ve been working on designing this 6-wheel educational rover — fully modeled and visualized in SOLIDWORKS.
The goal of this rover is to support exploration and research in educational environments, providing a simple yet functional platform for learning about robotics and mobility.
🛠️ My Role:
I handled the entire mechanical design, from ideation to final rendering, inspired by brainstorming through platforms like GrabCAD , thingiverse and other engineering communities.
⚙️ Design Features:
6-wheel base for maximum stability and traction
Robotic arm for manipulation and interaction
Optimized structure using Mass Topology techniques to reduce weight and improve performance
Rendered using basic visualization techniques inside SOLIDWORKS
💡 Biggest Challenge:
Getting the right mechanical balance between simplicity and functionality was key. I had to rethink the frame using topology optimization to make it lightweight yet sturdy.
This project was an exciting learning opportunity, and I’m proud of how it turned out. Would love to hear your feedback from the SOLIDWORKS and robotics community
A big thanks to Dassault Systemes and SOLIDWORKS for empowering us with the tools to turn our ideas into reality.
