PROJECT OF THE YEAR: VIRTUAL TWIN PRODUCTION PROCESS

Introduction: This is a virtual twin of biodegradable toothbrush production machines.

Objective: The objective was to create a virtual twin and understand the production process before its real production.

While plastic has many valuable uses, we have become addicted to single-use or disposable plastic with severe environmental consequences. Half of all plastic produced is designed to be used only once and thrown away. Scientists have even suggested that plastic waste is now so ubiquitous in the natural environment. According to Dental Tribune International, every year 29.4 billion toothbrushes worldwide (4.7 billion units of toothbrushes in India) are being sold and 99% of all the toothbrushes are made from plastic which turns into the trash and causes drastic effects.

We wanted to help the earth help the environment, and reduce plastic waste so we selected our aim to Re-engineer Existing Plastic products with Biodegradable material we started working on an innovative idea of creating a biodegradable cheap toothbrush for our university project. We wanted to understand the production flow of the toothbrush. What will the machines looks like and the floor area they consume their bulk size and all we understood through the SOLIDWORKS student edition.
