My Experience with 3DEXPERIENCE SolidWorks and Cloud Applications Part 6: xDesign Touch Mode

Hello,

In the sixth part of my 3DEXPERIENCE Experience, I will share with you the use of xDesign touch mode tools.

I care about the use of xDesign on the tablet. Because being able to design on a touch screen is a great feeling for me. If you have the student package and are using xDesign/xShape I would recommend trying it on a mobile device.

I wanted to share this experience with you because in my next post I will start a video series where I plan to design a mechanism on a tablet and show its production with a 3D printer.

Touch Mode Tools

Touch Shortcut

  • We can access the shortcut that comes when we press the S key on the keyboard while using it in normal mode, with this command in touch mode.

Lock Rotation

  • With this command we can lock the views. You can scroll the view by tapping an empty area while creating a sketch. This may cause you to make an error. You can avoid these problems by locking the view while creating the drawing with Lock rotation. You can also use selection boxes while this command is active.

Multi Select

  • When using in normal mode, we use the Ctrl key to select multiple edges/surfaces. In Touch Mode, the Multi Select command takes over this task.

Reframe

  • You can center your view with this command.

Exit Action

  • Once we draw a circle, we need to tap the circle command again or tap the Exit Action command to finish the drawing process. When we do not do this, we continue to form a circle in every area we touch the screen.

I reviewed the Touch Mode tools that I frequently use above. In the video below, I showed the use of these tools.
