I'm starting a new series. Throughout this series, I will review the "Be a SOLIDWORKS Collaborative Mechanical Designer" student pack. I will share my experiences with you.
1. What does this package offer?
This package offers you a step-by-step experience journey from the basics to job opportunities. If you're new to the world of design or have a background in desktop cad and want to learn about cloud applications for the future, you're probably confused about where to start. The training system in this package has been adjusted from scratch, step by step. In my experience it is very difficult to get confused on this journey. Another thing that the package offers is the certificates and the digital badge you will receive afterwards. I can say that the digital badge part is my favorite part :) Because this badge you get by completing all the tasks as a result of a training feels really great. Also, when you want to ask a question about a subject you do not understand, you can find the answer to your question in the 3DEXPERIENCE Edu Student community. Or you can answer the questions after completing the package like me.
2. What apps are included in the package?
The package includes both cloud-oriented applications and the familiar SolidWorks application. You must download the SolidWorks Connect application to your computer. In cloud applications, you can have applications in the picture. If you like to do parametric design, xDesign offers a nice experience here. Because it opens via a web browser and you can even use it on your mobile device. The idea of designing on a tablet using xDesign sounded great to me, so I bought myself a tablet for this job. 3. General review
The world of CAD embarks on a new journey. I think cloud applications have many advantages. For example, desktop apps alone were not suitable for mobility. However, we can run xDesign, a cloud application, even on a tablet. Being able to store my design data in the cloud gives me an advantage. For example, I want to show my friends a vise I designed on the computer. For this, I can view my vise design, which I open from my phone and store in the cloud, without the need for a computer, with the 3D Play application. Or, I can open and view a product I designed on a tablet on my computer. I can store the parts I designed on SolidWorks both in the cloud and in the memory of my computer. Thanks to this technology, we can use desktop and cloud applications in a hybrid way. When I think that we will use these applications frequently in the future, I am excited to think that I have the chance to take part in this technology and contribute to the development of this technology.
