Hello everyone
I'm starting a second series where I experience with student packs. In this series, I will review the Be a CATIA Collaborative Mechanical Designer student package.
The topics I will cover throughout this series will be as follows:
| Contents of the package and its differences from the 3DEXPERIENCE SolidWorks package |
| x3D Design review and differences from xDesign |
| How to design on an image with xShape? |
| Using Mechanical Designer and x3D Design together |
| Certification Process and General Experience |
| Hybrid Experience Starting | Task Distribution |
| Hybrid Experience 1 | Designing parts with x3D Design on a tablet |
Hybrid Experience 2 | Designing parts in SolidWorks Connected |
| Hybrid Experience 3 | Designing parts in Mechanical Designer |
| Hybrid Experience Final | Making the assembly in Mechanical Designer |
In my Hybrid Experience, I will get help from my friend @MD from TEKYAZ Intern Team.
If you're ready, let's start🙂
In my other student package review, I told you the advantages of student packages in general. I do not want to mention the same things again here. I would like to tell you what the package contains and what it offers you.
Collaborative Business Innovator & Industry Innovator roles are included in all student packages. These roles allow you to collaborate, manage your data, save files to the cloud, and more.
I wanted to show the design applications included in the package with pictures. Let's start with the roles in the package first.
There are many applications in the role of 3D Innovator Student. With these applications, you can make parametric and organic designs through a web browser. For now I will show pictures of these apps. I will include the details in my other reviews.
There are also many applications within the 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA Student role. It was formerly known as CATIA V6. This role includes part design, assembly design, mechanical system design, and more. If you have used CATIA V5 before, these will look familiar to you. So why should you choose Mechanical Designer? First of all, it has a newer and more convenient interface. Second, you can save space by storing your designs in the cloud. In this way, you can securely access your data from anywhere.
NOTE: For those who are wondering, you need to install the applications in this role on your computer.
Differences and similarities compared to the SolidWorks student package
The biggest difference in the SolidWorks student suite is, of course, Mechanical Designer rather than SolidWorks Connected. No need to explain this 😀
What I really want to talk about here is the differences between design practices in the cloud. In this review, I will show the similarities and differences between 3D Designer and 3D Innovator. For now, I'll just show it as a picture. In my next review, I will compare some of these apps.
So let's answer this question: Why cloud?
Dassaults Systemes company offers a unique experience to people by collecting all its products on a single platform. Knowing only CAD/CAM programs is no longer enough in today's world. It is also very important to carry out and manage projects in collaboration with your teammates. This is where 3DEXPERIENCE, the solution from Dassaults Systemes, comes into play. It allows you to both design and collaborate.
See you at next experience.
Thank you.
