I was entered as an entry-level CAD engineer who had just started using Solidworks. Despite my lack of experience in this field, I was determined to create a design that would impress my senior and prove my worth.
I spent countless hours conceptualizing and fine-tuning my design until it was comprehensive and ready for production. My senior was impressed with me and my work and encouraged me to create SolidWorks models and generate all necessary drawings and PDFs for production.
As the time to receive the manufactured parts and begin assembly approached, I started to have many doubts about whether my design could actually work in the real world or not. I started getting nervous as the machine was being assembled, and I was wondering if everything would fit properly.
But despite my apprehension, the parts were successfully assembled, and the machine worked as well as it should. It was a moment of triumph and relief for me, knowing that my design had been realized and that it was functionally working.
This experience taught me an important lesson about the importance of considering real-world factors during the design process. And it also gave me the confidence to continue pursuing my career as a CAD engineer, knowing that what I have is to create designs that could make a real difference in the world.
