Excited to share my latest surface modeling project, a custom FIFA World Cup 2026 Trophy designed and developed entirely in SOLIDWORKS. This project challenged me to push beyond conventional solid modeling and explore the full power of advanced surfacing techniques.
The organic curves, flowing contours, and globe details required a combination of several powerful SOLIDWORKS features:
🔹 Boundary Surfaces: Used to create smooth and controlled transitions throughout the trophy's iconic flowing structure.
🔹 Surface Fill: Essential for closing complex surface regions while maintaining high-quality curvature continuity.
🔹 Lofted and Swept Features: Helped define the trophy's elegant profile and intricate geometric flow.
🔹 Surface Knit: Combined multiple surface bodies into a unified model, preparing it for solid conversion.
🔹 Trim & Extend Surfaces: Enabled precise refinement of intersecting geometries and sculpted details.
🔹 Split Line & Wrap Features: Applied custom text and national branding elements seamlessly onto curved surfaces.
🔹 Appearances & Rendering Preparation: Added realistic gold finishes and presentation-ready aesthetics.
What makes this project special is not just the final appearance but the engineering and design thinking behind recreating a globally recognized symbol using advanced CAD techniques. It demonstrates how SOLIDWORKS Surface Modeling can transform complex artistic concepts into manufacturable digital models.
As we approach the FIFA World Cup 2026, I wanted to celebrate both the spirit of football and the limitless possibilities of engineering design.
