🟩 FEA Friday- Meshing 🕸

What is Meshing 🕸?

Basic theme of FEM is to make calculations at only limited (Finite) number of points and then interpolate the results for entire domain (Surface volume). Any continuous object has infinite degrees of freedom and its just not possible to solve the problem in this format. Finite element method reduces the degrees of freedom from infinite to finite with the help of discretization i.e. Meshing

  • In FEM, you divide your model into small pieces; those are called Finite Elements. The elements connect all points called as Nodes.
  • After opening Linear Structural Validation, the app provides you the option of generating a FEM representation for your product, using default mesh values that are based on the dimensions of your product.
  • If you create the FEM representation upon opening the app, you can adjust these mesh specifications and then regenerate the mesh while defining the simulation.
  • If you do not create the FEM representation upon opening the app, the app automatically generates the appropriate meshes when you run the simulation.
