La Fondation Dassault Systemes, India has launched revolutionary program to co-create vibrant Industry-Academia eco system to effectively address the Employability and Talent Readiness Challenges faced by this eco system. Through ConnectNext Program La Fondation Dassault Systemes, India aims to achieve this objective by helping students to be “Industry Ready” and “Future Ready”.
La Fondation Dassault Systemes team did brainstorming sessions with the thought leaders from Industry and Academia in India, to understand possible root causes of this perennial problem of Employability and Talent Readiness challenges. In these interactions, we realized that ‘improving quality of student projects’ can be very effective mechanism to address this problem. It is also felt that active participation by Industry will make this program truly relevant.
With this context, we have launched ConnectNext Program in India, which has following major aspects to bring about path breaking transformation, which will help this eco system:
- Help students to select meaningful, industry/domain oriented projects
- Build a library of such project ideas which are defined by industry experts
- Build a pool of Industry Experts to mentor and guide students when they are working on the projects
- Identify top quality projects done by students from engineering colleges throughout India and showcase these projects to industries across India
Through ConnectNext Program, La Fondation Dassault Systemes, India is providing a unique on-line platform for students in India to display their Engineering talent through demonstrable projects. This platform will also connect Industry and Academia leaders to exchange their views about emerging technologies, skills required for future workforce and transformation in academia to make students future ready.
Plan:
Phase 1 – Showcase top quality Students Projects to Industries across India through virtual conference and on-line platform
- It provides opportunity to students to catch industry attention through their projects
- First such Virtual conference is scheduled on 17th September 2020 which will be attended by 2000+ participants from Industry and Academia from India.
We invite engineering college students and professors to nominate their ‘ready to showcase’ engineering projects. Those students, who wish to grab this opportunity and want to be visible to potential opportunity providers across India, please submit your Nomination by Clicking on below link. This program is completely free and no fees are charged.
Applicable for students studying in India and in Indian Universities/Colleges
Phase 2 – Develop Database of Industry Recommended Projects and Mentorship Network
Connecting with Industry experts from all Industry Verticals or domains and collating real industry problem statements as project ideas for students
- Creating database for Industrial Projects and relevant mentors in specific domain
- Mentoring by industry experts during project execution will be great help to the students to know practical and industry aspects.
- Setting up framework with universities to build this new project framework and make engineering projects more relevant to Industries
Phase 3 - Internship through Industry Networks and Publish projects for needy youths as DIY kit
- La Fondation Dassault Systemes is also working with Industries to provide internship opportunities to the students in India. It will provide appropriate industry mentoring and industry exposure for students to be Industry Ready
- Classify certain projects which have the potential to create good innovative products for the society and useful for intended end users
- La Fondation Dassault Systemes, India aims to build a platform to publish such DIY kits for needy / disadvantaged youths to download and use it, which may provide them livelihood opportunities and will also help neighboring eco system
Objective of entire program is to co-create a vibrant eco system of “Industry-Academia and Students community” for solving Talent Readiness and Employability challenges; by developing Industry Ready – Future Ready next generation students.
This program is launched and available for Engineering Students and Professors from India. Reason to post this here is that this might spark similar ideas from Worldwide Educators & creation of suitable formats based on the country specific needs.
