You all know now that I am an Aviation Geek and a CATIA lover.
A few days ago, I then decided to create a new Relational Design demonstration based on my preferred World War II fighter: the Northrop P-61 Black Widow.
In fact, one of my friends offered me a 3D model of this amazing night fighter a few years ago.
And thanks to new 3DEXPEREINCE platform capabilities, I managed to import and use it as "a visual context" for this new Relational Design demonstration.
Based on this, I first recreate some external surfaces and structural parts on the two beams of this plane.
Based on these data, here is a first video of the power of CATIA Relational Design: when modifying a driving plan (offset value modification), the shape of a bulkhead morphs automatically to its new position, following the shape of the external surface (in black transparent here).
I also would like to show here, in this first episode, how easy it is to reuse a part, here a bulkhead, designed in context using relational design capabilities.
This operation can also be performed in a sub-assembly, in context of the main root assembly.
More to come..
