Hello Dear Students and Teachers
I am Alain Dugousset, a French Mechanical Engineer, graduated from CESTI SupMeca (now ISAE SupMeca) Engineering School in 1996 and working on our DS Campus @ Velizy.
Thanks to several training periods (@ Dassault Aviation and @ Matra Defense) and a first year working in my Engineering School, I was trained on CATIA V3R2, CATIA V4, SolidWorks 97, Euclid 3 and Euclid Quantum, ProEngineer and Unigraphics,
I joined Dassault Systèmes in 1997 to work on CATIA V5 Mechanical solutions define and deployments (mainly Assembly Design, Part Design and Sketcher, and Generative Shape Design).
From this (old) times, I am considered as a CATIA expert in Mechanical Design and Relation Design.
As an aviation enthusiast, I had the opportunity to work on several projects with Dassault Aviation, Airbus, Boeing, etc... on CATIA V5, CATIA V6 and now 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA.
And sometime, I dream that the most beautiful plane of the world has been designed on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
I have also learned a lot when working for T&M customers, such as BMW, Daimler Chrysler, Ford, Tesla or Jaguar Land Rover for instance.
After this first period of my career, I spent a few years on CATIA Systems define
and 2 years as Defense & Security Industry Leader, working for instance with the RAID (French SWAT Team) and French Armée de l'Air.
These experiences were fundamentals for me to understand how to use and showcase what "CATIA can do", and to discover the impact of real-time virtual universes / 3D experiences on our customers.
I also like to showcase CATIA powerful capabilities in areas where we are not so well known: Art & Science and innovative projects with Start-ups
A few years ago, I designed and validated my friend Jean-Pierre Houdin theory on Kheops pyramid.
I was also part of the success of the Big Frog story, a french audacious project to compete in the Reno Air Races with a diesel engine and yet win thanks to faster, greener aerospace design.
And I have the chance to collaborate for several years now with a great French artist, Anilore Banon, for whom I design (or have redesigned) some of her wonderful pieces of art.
I met Anilore while I was driving Dassault Systemes project on D-Day anniversary in 2013/2014.
And I also like to spent time to design and validate in 3D some concepts and ideas of Leonardo da Vinci, our Mentor as Mechanical Engineer. Imagine if Leonardo da Vinci had access to CATIA...
CATIA for Fun
Last but not least, as a Marvel and Star Wars fan, I love to use CATIA to design some Marvel artifacts or Star Wars spaceships and droids
and sometimes to recreate in 3D iconic planes, spaceship... coming from comic books or TV series.
Today, after more than 3 years being part of CATIA Engineering Role Portfolio team working on Relational Design but also CATIA Fastener Engineering, mainly for A&D and T&M industries.
I am now back on CATIA CoreEngineering topics (mechanicaldesign )
Always for fun
Then, dear students and teachers, do not hesitate to contact me or to send me a mail to discuss on all those CATIA topics. It will be a pleasure for me to exchange with you. and maybe try to help you discovering the powerful capabilities of CATIA and 3DEXPERIENCE platform
Cheers
