We'd like to take this Wednesday to keep everyone in the loop about this simulation. 😉
This is an Abaqus/Standard dynamic analysis. The two loops have hyperelastic properties and are manipulated with a combination of connector element and ordinary boundary conditions. The implicit dynamics in Standard was updated some years ago to have integration schemes set with the application parameter. This particular simulation uses the quasi-static application for the first several steps and the moderate dissipation application for the final few steps.
