Dear DataPrep user,
In order to be more efficient in your Data Preparation process, I would recommend to customize your DataPrep action bar section with the following commands:
#1 Dump Statistics
This command gives you the number of products on the selected nodes.
This is particularly useful since we currently have a threshold at 8,000 products for using Product Processor.
It is also a good indicator for analyzing the size and deepness of the products structure.
How to get it?
You must have a DELMIA role installed to have this command available in your environment: e.g. MAE, EWD, EWK, etc.
#2 Triangles count:
It will let you know the size of the mesh your are looking at.
Use this indicator to evaluate the performance of your simplification before/after Product Processor.
I recommend to take as a value the "STATISTICS ON THE DISPLAYED ELEMENTS"
How to Customize your DataPrep Section?
- Right click on the Action Bar
- Customize Mode
- Add Commands...
- In "Commands" tab, select "All Commands" on the left panel, and search for your Command
- Optional: if you wish to create a keyboard shortcut, double click the command and enter your shortcut in the field "Accelerator"
- Drag and drop the command in your Section
- Right click Action Bar
- Exit Customize Mode
