🍺Does a mug of beer look tasty when it's rendered? Vote Now!

We challenged our new DSPBR technology by initiating an Oktoberfest-themed 3D rendering competition among our internal 3DEXCITE DSPBR artists to prove their skills. All assets were made available, the tool was chosen by the participants themselves - in the end it was important that only DSPBR materials were used.

DSPBR stands for Dassault Systèmes Physically Based Renderer. It is an easy-to-use, renderer-independent, PBR material model for a large variety of industry use-cases, ranging from high-performance VR applications to high-quality GI renderings. The DSPBR material technology is backed by the STELLAR render engine.

But DSPBR can do a lot more than realistically represent technical constructions - with its multiple features such as subsurface scattering, flakes or sheen (to name just a few...), there are no longer any limits to the visualization of food and drinks…

  • How realistic can a digital veal sausage be?
  • Does a mug of beer look tasty when it's rendered?

All submissions were amazingly creative & beautiful, that we can’t decide who should be the winner…
