CLAAS is one of the most innovative, medium-sized companies we work with at 3DEXCITE. There is an entrepreneurial spirit of optimism that is infectious. About three years ago, we started working with CLAAS, which has been a Dassault Systèmes customer for 20 years. At the time, we all agreed that CLAAS needed to produce more digital assets and needed a process based on a virtual replica of the original machine. Considering this process, content needed to be generated for each use-case and touchpoint that CLAAS uses to target customers.
A technological change has taken place at CLAAS over this exciting time to-date; as the previous individual, silo-based applications were initially migrated to the 3DEXPERIENCE® PLATFORM in 2017. Thus, the requirements for the production of digital content have also developed very well:
The 3DEXPERIENCE® Platform stores all the data related to a product - from design through system engineering to simulation and manufacturing.
Instead of thinking about how to take CAD data, convert it (if necessary) and then feed it into a process, CLAAS can now access the CAD and other data directly in the 3DEXPERIENCE® Platform. This is possible through the various apps and allows CLAAS to process the data directly into digital assets, regardless if the final output requires images, animations, movies or VR experiences. Since these processes always refer to the original data, changes made to the product are directly forwarded and updated in the final assets, thereby minimizing the potential error of using the wrong version of a product for marketing.
As a consequence, the "time-to-asset" is massively shortened and CLAAS can now produce a lot of high-quality digital content in a very short time. In order for content to consistently reach the right user and contain the right information, CLAAS will be using Platform Tools in the future. By doing so, CLAAS can ‘listen’ and react to customer feedback and wishes from the customer’s perspective. This social listening, in combination with the used Experiences, provides valuable information about the acceptance of the products and can be reflected in product development to directly help influence the design process and other business processes.
