You can set alerts for "Content Published or Updated", "Content commented, answered or liked". The problem is that if someone leaves a comment that is answering you that someone just liked you end up getting three, or four if they mention you on a single comment. I log in here some times and have 72,452 notifications that turns out to be two people answering one comment...yeah that's an exaggeration. 

it would be nice to be able to say "IF I have this enabled and a person likes and comments on the the same comment then disable one of the alters"
