Generate and evaluate multiple pit, pushback and ramp designs through an automated parametric process
The Surface Mine Designer is typically a Mining Engineer tasked with developing various pit, dump and ramp designs from the ultimate pit as well as pushback phases. The scope of the activities for the Surface Mine Designer could include annual updates to the Strategic Mine Plan (Life of Mine) and/or more detailed pit design updates within pushbacks and mini-pits based on new information.
Benefits
- Rapid generation of multiple outcomes through parametric design offering optionality assessment and identification of optimal designs
- Safe and technically valid pit, dump and ramp designs linked to geotechnical features
- Significant workflow improvements and time savings (compared to similar offerings) through close integration between Surface Mine Designer and Pit Optimizer inputs and outputs.
Highlights
- Parametric pit and dump designs with multiple design options
- Parametric ramp design with multiple design options
- Integration of geotechnical inputs to ensure safety and stability
- Visualization of design outputs
- Report generation and results analytics (tabulation and graphs)
What's New
- Save time during the ramp creation process while also achieving improved ramp designs and an overall reduction in ramp lengths. This is enabled by providing more flexibility for Mine Planners when dealing with flat zone in the Pit designs.
- Create safe and practical designs by honouring ramp width when providing berm access at both toe and crest locations.
- Enhanced design capabilities enabling support of multiple pit bottoms or zones.
