GEOVIA Pit Optimizer

Maximize Net Present Value (NPV) by creating and evaluating multiple scenarios for optimized pit and pushback phases as well as mining schedules.

The Pit Optimizer is a platform-based Strategic Mine Planning tool used by mining engineers to generate pit and pushback optimizations as well as schedules for surface mines. It allows a user to define solutions that maximize the Net Present Value (NPV) and to evaluate optionality in multiple optimized pushback and scheduling scenarios.

Benefits

  • Define and evaluate multiple pit optimization and scheduling scenarios with different sets of input parameters
  • Select optimal mining and processing strategy for surface mines through determination of Ultimate Pit and Practical Pushback Phases
  • Generate realistic mine plans and schedules by applying practical mining constraints like minimum mining width and mining direction
  • Streamline workflow and enable 3DEXPERIENCE platform integration through exposing and accessing parameters stored in block models

Highlights

  • Multi-scenario definition of technical and economics parameters
  • Optimized pit and pushback generation
  • Basic Life of Mine per-period scheduling
  • Practical constraints definition
  • Visualization of optimization and scheduling outputs
  • Report generation and results analytics (tabulation and graphs)
  • Generate output that can be consumed downstream

 What's New

  • Improved definition and flexibility of exclusion zones using geoscience filters, and conditional removal at a user-specified cost
  • Improved interpretation of optimization results via enhanced reporting for economics and scheduling results
