Show Mfg. Item, System & Operation attributes on press of F5 Key

This document is intended to provide a detailed guide and examples on how to customize a Business Rule for opening ID DELPPRF5Attributes_ID

Important Note/Precaution: Using the BL extensively to show to many attributes of BOM/Process which are expanded in the DAG (Tile View) may cause performance issues. Due to this, it is recommended to use the BL carefully and only show the information that is useful/necessary.

Introduction

In applications like Manufactured Item Definition, Process Planning etc. where tiles are shown for the objects, whenever the F5 key is presses, list of attributes are shown on the respective tiles of the operations in the form of tooltips.

The opening ID DELPPRF5Attributes_ID is the entry point to customize the business logic to customize the display of various attributes of the objects. 

Here, the working of the BL will be explained along with the possible modification.

Version Tested on – 2024x FD04 FP.CFA.3432, 2025x FD01 FP.CFA.2506

UsageGets triggered when "F5" is pressed when in "Manufactured Item Definition", "Process Planning" or similar apps where tiles are visible. It shows the attributes of the object with a popup/tooltip on the tile of respective object.

"F5" window working

When the "F5" key is pressed in the applications like Manufactured Item Definition, Process Planning etc., a window is activated for each of the tiles visible in the editor. Out of The Box, the window may show different information for different objects.

For ex. 

In "Manufactured Item Definition" For "Manufacturing Assembly", the window shows the Names of its child:

For Provided Part, it shows Its Instance Name:

The information shown in the "F5" window depends on the object types and can be different for different objects.

Out of the Box Sample BL Working Explanation

In the installation folder of the 3DExperience Platform, in "YourInstallationPath\\win_b64\\resources\\knowledge\\scripts" the OOTB Sample BL files "DELPPRF5Attributes.CATRule" and "DELPPRF5Attributes.CATRuleExit" are available. 

However, in the "CATRuleExit" the scripts are disabled OOTB by commenting out the "
