Surface Plot displays incorrect/unrelated surfaces in Flow Simulation

Hello!

I am experiencing an issue with Surface Plots in SolidWorks Flow Simulation

Context

  • Thermal simulation in an assembly
  • Solid temperature Surface Plots
  • Results are fully solved (not “Mesh Only”)
  • Some plots work correctly, while others do not
  • “Use CAD Geometry” is enabled

Problem

When creating a Surface Plot and selecting specific faces, the temperature contour is sometimes displayed on different or apparently unrelated surfaces.

Observed behavior:

  • I select one face, but the contour appears on another surface.
  • In some cases, the displayed surfaces do not appear to exist in the CAD model.
  • Recreating the plot from scratch does not consistently solve the issue.

Additional information

  • Other Surface Plots in the same project may work correctly.
  • The same geometry behaves differently depending on the project.
  • Temperatures and convergence otherwise seem reasonable.

Initially I thought the issue only occurred on faces in solid-solid contact, but I have also observed the same behavior on surfaces that are not directly touching other solids.

When selecting the entire component instead of individual faces, the Surface Plot is only displayed on some surfaces of the component, not all of them.

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
