Hello,
As part of a university project, I am to create a 3D model of a wing in a CAD software of my choice, for which I chose SolidWorks, and then perform an FEA Analysis on this model under certain flight and payload conditions. I have created the model, however which ever method I attempt to use to put a surface layer of skin over the internal structure leads to topology sharing failures when exported to SpaceClaim (the university supplies Ansys for FEA and CFD and SpaceClaim is what I have experience with). The wing has nine ribs, a spar, and leading and trailing edge bars that run throughout it's length and give it it's shape. Does anyone who has had experience in this sort of thing before have any suggestions. I have attached some images of the wing unskinned at several angles to aid in understanding my predicament.
