Hi!
I was trying to make Global Variables (GV) in a new assembly so the GVs could be used across multiple parts in that assembly. So I looked at this Youtube video (he uses SW2020): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3edKPUdWLEI
But when I try this, it does not do the same things.
The main problem is this. At 1:30, he defines a GV and then goes to "Equations - components" to click a feature dimension on one of his parts and set it to that GV he created. When he does this it says "D1@Sketch2@Base.Part". But for me it just says "D1@Sketch1" and when equal it to my GV it says "Equation entered is invalid". I tried manually writing this correct syntax, but it says the same thing.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Also, at 0:26 he enables "Show Feature Annotations" on the assembly level, which shows the feature annotations on all of his parts. I had to enable it on the part level to show them. This issue is less important though.
Thanks!
