For strategic scheduling, SIMO has traditionally been the strongest tool. However, the new algorithms in Pit Optimizer and Strategic Mine Planner work differently and in about 90% of cases deliver better results, sometimes up to 10% higher NPV, and much faster. Scenarios that take 1–2 hours in SIMO can now run in under 10 minutes. These are different technologies for different use cases, but we now provide multiple options.
