Sometimes the best gifts aren’t the ones you click and buy online—they’re the ones you actually make! My son Cashton came home needing a holiday ornament for a school gift exchange. At first, I almost went the easy route and ordered something online. Then I thought… why not MAKE something truly special?! We fired up SOLIDWORKS xDesign for Makers and the 3D printer and decided to create a custom ornament featuring Ozzy, the school mascot. 📺🎬 Check out the video below 🎬📺

I took the original logo of Ozzy and created a few AI images to assist me in my 3D modeling process. I sculpted Ozzy using the Sub-D tools inside SOLIDWORKS xDesign (lots of tweaking with the robot tool), then I used the wrap tool to create a deboss of 2025. Then he was off to the 3D printer. The result was exactly what we needed. Cashton loved it so much we ended up printing a second one for our own tree. There’s just something different about giving a gift that someone took the time to design and make!
Happy Holidays! 🎄✨ See YOU in 2026! Jason
